We find out from Patrick what PiRA means to him

Can you tell us what you do and what your role is with the awards?
Having headed up the commercial partnerships across the TRB business for almost 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of building relationships with the vendor companies who support our events, awards, and our news site (including joining our Ambassador team).

PiRA quickly became a special interest to my partners, as it was a ‘movement’ that allowed them to align their offering with those retail businesses who have ALL identified their people as their power. And what solution provider who helps retailers with their workforce efficiency doesn’t want a slice of that?

What makes these awards special?
As a team, like  all businesses, we have felt the stresses of the last few years. But, as with many in the retailer community, we hunkered down and quickly deduced that what would get us through, both  as a business and as a team, was each other. I think it’s fantastic to see all those integral individuals  who had to REMAIN at the coal-face – being shown the love.

What is your favourite retail moment, initiative, or innovation?
There have been many – all of the partners I work with, I consider to be presenting great innovations across the retail space. Notably, one of my partners deals specifically with supporting retailers with mental health strategies. This particular subject being core to staff development, is, to me, incredible to see.

If you were a retail brand, what would be your unique selling point?
Friction-free service and value for money

If you could choose a famous retail mascot or slogan to represent the team what would it be and why?
RONSEAL- ”Does exactly what it says on the tin”!
